29 June 2010SPAIN 1 (Villa 63)PORTUGAL 0Spain kicked-off, 57 seconds and 15 passes later Torres cut in from the left and gave Eduardo a fright with a hugely ambitious shot. His strike partner also tested Eduardo from distance. Unlike that clown Ricardo, Eduardo is an excellent goalkeeper. Five minute later, same thing, Villa from the left, Eduardo saved, this joke is getting old. Despite Spain's dominance it was Portugal who had the best chance of the half. The fabulous Coentrao backheeled a pass into Meireles who played an angled ball inside two defenders to Tiago, Casillas spilled his shot high in the air and Almeida was too slow and too weak when challenging for the ball with the net gaping. Seven minutes Casillas he fumbled a Ronaldo free kick and the Spanish scrambled clear. The awful Almeida missed another glorious chance, heading a fantastic Meireles cross wide of the right post. Unfortunately for Portugal the chances kept falling to the wretched Almeida, he surged past Pique on[...] |

16 June 2010SOUTH AFRICA 0URUGUAY 3 (Forlan 24, Forlan 80 Pen, Pereira 95)Uruguay controlled the game without threatening the South Africa goal - until the 24th minute. Forlan turned onto a pass and let rip with a shot from 25 yards which flew into the top left corner via a deflection off Mokoena. Forlan, who played behind Cavani and Suarez, was magnificent. He created excellent chances for Lugano and Cavani then smashed home a late penalty. Muslera sent a goalkick into the South Africa half, Forlan headed down, Cavani eventually won the ball off a defender and passed out wide to Suarez, he sold a defender a dummy before shooting at Khune from a poor angle, Khune parried, the South African defence failed to clear, Forlan tried his luck, the ball hit Cavani and broke for Suarez, Khune dived at his feet and took out the striker's left leg and, unlike Casillas, Khune didn't get away with it, red card, penalty. Suarez pulled down Forlan's glorious crossfield pass, lobbed the ball over[...] |

7 July 2010GERMANY 0SPAIN 1 (Puyol 73)Villa almost gave Spain the perfect start when he stretched to meet Pedro through ball, Neuer had his hands ready but missed the ball completely, it bounced off his left shin and out to Podolski. Spain worked a short corner, Iniesta swung a fantastic cross into the box, Bam Bam Puyol connected with a spectacular diving header but was a foot over. Ramos stamped on the top of Podolski's left foot. The ref, Viktor Kassai, saw it and of course did nothing. Trochowski, wrongly picked ahead of Kroos, had Germany's first shot on target, a grasscutter from 30 yards which Casillas parried for a corner. In first half injury time Klose turned Puyol and released Ozil, Ramos clipped him on the edge of the box, he went down inside it, no penalty. It should have been a free kick and a (second) yellow for Ramos.Kroos replaced Trochowski on the hour mark and unfortunately for Germany his first touch was also Germany's best chance, a volley straight at[...] |

| Casillas expects Real Madrid to sign Chelsea fullback Cole |
 |
Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas expects Chelsea fullback Ashley Cole to join him in Madrid. Casillas, 29, said he expected to be playing alongside Cole when the season starts. The World Cup-winning keeper, who is vice-captain at the Bernabeu, said: “It doesn’t surprise me that Chelsea are doing everything they can to try to keep Ashley Cole, I would be as well if I were in their position. “But it comes down to the fact that it’s very hard to keep a player that doesn’t want to be there. “If Ashley really wants to be at Real Madrid next season then I expect that it will happen.” Need your Chelsea news fix? | Iker Casillas behaves rather inappropriately on the news |
 |
OMG! He just kissed his girlfriend!Rather cleverly, the BBC and ITV made a point of deploying ugly men who look exactly like toby jugs around the World Cup press areas, armed with probing questions about the match. That way, their live broadcasts would be safe from victorious rushes of euphoria suddenly becoming sexual. As is the case above, when Iker [.. .] |
