| Ancelotti promised cash |
So far the Blues have only brought in experienced midfielder Yossi Benayoun and young defender Tomas Kalas, opting not to spend big bucks like they have during previous summers. Chelsea have been linked with the likes of David Luiz, Ramires and Fernando Torres but have so far made no moves to sign any of the trio. While the Blues are consciously trying to cut costs Gourlay has stated that Ancelotti will have money to spend should he find a player he feels will benefit the side. "If Carlo wants to bring a player or two into the squad then we will look at that," said Gourlay. "It has to be the right player to fit into the squad and obviously at the right price. If these things all come together then fine, we'll strengthen the squad. But only if Carlo feels it's necessary." |

| Landon Donovan Could Leave This Summer |
It is arguably the biggest transfer that has not happened besides Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona. The move I speak of is Landon Donovan to Europe.Having been the best player in MLS the past several seasons, and after some incredible performances recently with the United States national team, Donovan has attracted clubs from all over the world. In 2009, it was Bayern Munich, where he spent 10 weeks on loan, but failed to break into Germany's greatest squad. This year changed everything. Donovan had always been doubted when it came to playing outside of MLS, having had miserable spells at Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen in Germany. This year, he gained the attention of David Moyes and Everton of the English Premier League.Ten appearances produced two goals, three assists, and wins over Manchester United and Premier League winners Chelsea, as well as a draw with Arsenal. He also played very well in a loss in the Merseyside Derby against Liverpool. Not many players can say they were able to lead their[...] |

| Drogba going nowhere - Gourlay |
Gourlay was quick to deny any gossip that their star man was leaving West London in the summer. The Ivory Coast international has been linked with big-spending Manchester City and Inter Milan. But Gourlay has insisted that the 32-year-old - who is under contract until 2012 - will at least see out this season. "Didier will be a Chelsea player next year. Didier is under contract," he told Sky Sports News. "The thing about this time of year is we always get (this). For our players to be in the news - it's normal. But Didier Drogba will be a Chelsea player next year." |

| English Premier League: Manchester United to Edge Out Top Clubs for Mesut Ozil |
Manchester United are on the verge of making an offer for the German attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil .The World Cup star has an interest in Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid, but it seems that Manchester United will be making the opening bid.Werder Bremen look like they will lose their man this summer, as the odds of Ozil going to United this summer have been slashed to 1/5. And even if he doesn't join with Man U for some reason, he will most certain leave Werder for another club. The gifted player will add much needed creativity to the United midfield as they seek to take back the Premier League title from Chelsea. He only has one year left on his contract and the Red Devils are hoping to get him for around £10m, although the German team are asking for more—closer to £15m.Ozil was a player that stood out for the Germans during World Cup.Even though there were players like Klose in the same team, he managed to make the stage his[...] |
