| Bale amazed by Spurs popularity in New York |
 |
Gareth Bale Tottenham Tottenham winger Gareth Bale admits he's surprised by the support for football and Spurs in New York. Over the weekend, almost 500 fans queued in the rain to meet Bale, Younes Kaboul, Roman Pavlyuchenko and legendary midfielder and club ambassador Ossie Ardiles at a Puma signing at Upper 90 Sport and Soccer, 94th Street, Manhattan. "It was a fantastic turn-out," Bale told the Spurs website. "I've got to say I didn't expect so many fans to be here. "It was great to meet them and give something back to them. "I've been surprised with the interest in the level of support for football in America. They have major sports over here like baseball, American Football and basketball, but clearly football is well supported as well." Need your Tottenham news fix? |
Harry Redknapp Spartak Moscow Tottenham The agent of Roman Pavlyuchenko says the Russian striker will stay with Tottenham. Pavlyuchenko has been linked with Sporting Lisbon. But Oleg Artemov said: “Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is not going to let Roman leave, he is necessary for Harry Redknapp. “Roman himself does not want to leave England but, if that does happen, he will return to a Russian club. “We have noted information appeared regarding the possible departure of the striker. Among contenders were Sporting Lisbon and Spartak Moscow. “But I did not see any movement from Spartak – there were no specifics. Interest from both Zenit and Lokomotiv, as was reported in Britain, was nothing.” Need your Tottenham news fix? Click here for all Spurs news and transfer rumours. |

| Tottenham in Djalo talks with Sporting Lisbon in New York |
 |
Newcastle United Tottenham Tottenham are set for talks in New York today over Sporting Lisbon winger Yannick Djalo. The Daily Mail says the 24-year-old forward's agent claimed earlier this month that both Spurs and Newcastle United had expressed interest and reports in Portugal claim the Londoners could set up a move this week. The White Hart Lane outfit and Sporting face each other for a pre-season friendly in New York on Sunday and are already in separate talks about a potential season-long loan of Roman Pavlyuchenko to the Portuguese side. Newcastle reportedly had a £4.2million bid rejected for the forward, who has been used in wide positions in recent friendlies. Sporting are said to want about £6m for the Portugal B international who has a release clause set at £25m. Need your Tottenham news fix? Click here for all Spurs news and transfer rumours. |

Chelsea Cristiano Ronaldo Ronaldo Tottenham Sporting Lisbon prodigy Armindo Bangna is a target for Tottenham. The Daily Mail says Spurs have shown interest in Sporting Lisbon starlet Armindo Bangna Bruma as part of negotiations for Roman Pavlyuchenko to join the Portuguese side on loan. The 15-year-old winger has inevitably been likened to Cristiano Ronaldo and has also attracted attention from Chelsea for his progress with the Sporting youth team and Portugal's Under 17 side.
