| Ex-Liverpool star Fowler to stay if North Queensland Fury remains |
 |
Former Liverpool, Leeds and Manchester City striker Robbie Fowler will come back to North Queensland Fury if the club remains afloat. Recently retired Fury midfielder and new football operations manager Robbie Middleby confirmed that the club’s marquee man will return to Townsville if the Fury gain enough money to guarantee their future. “Robbie told me he wants to come back to Townsville,” Middleby said of Fowler, who left for England yesterday. “I’ll be speaking to him on the phone every day to keep him up to date with the developments at the club regarding new investors. “He’ll be back. He’s a massive drawcard for us.” The Fury are confident they will get the $2.5million they need in sponsorship and investment money by the end of this month to stay in operation. |
