Carle on target but Crystal Palace held to a draw
Nick Carle was on target for Crystal Palace in England’s Championship overnight could not prevent his side conceding a late goal to draw 2-2 at Blackpool. The Australia international struck min just the 3rd minute when he hit a left-footed shot into the bottom-left corner from six yards out after a lovely cross from the left flank by Lee Hills. The Eagles then went two ahead in the 34th minute through Darren Ambrose who hit his 18th goal of the season with a neat finish from close range. However, not to be outdone, Blackpool fought back thanks to a 20-yard strike from Charlie Adam just a couple of minutes after the re-start and then disaster struck for Palace when Ben Burgess, who had come in as a substitute in the first half, fired home to level the score with just a minute to go. The late goal prevented Palace from moving out of the drop zone as Blackpool remained in 9th position on the table.
