Rugby:Having held out England’s full-frontal assault a fortnight ago, Ireland’s defence coach Les Kiss is preparing for a more varied approach from Wales this weekend. Eck gets Birmingham green light to meet McGeady price
Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish is ready to meet Celtic's asking price for Aiden McGeady. The Mirror says McLeish is likely to get his man this summer with an £11million bid for Celtic winger McGeady. The former Rangers manager, who knows McGeady well from his days in Scotland, has refused to take no in an answer in his quest to land the 23-year-old Republic of Ireland winger. McLeish had an £8million bid for the much-coveted McGeady rejected in January but has the go-ahead from the St Andrews board to increase his offer in the summer window. Celtic supremo Dermot Desmond is insisting that no offers under £10million will even be considered.

Portsmouth coach Groves: Tottenham’s O’Hara can play for England
Portsmouth coach Paul Groves is backing on-loan Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara as a future England player. O'Hara is considering switching allegiances to the Republic of Ireland. But Groves told The News: "It's down to Jamie how far he wants to go. He's got all the attributes to go and play as high as he possibly wants to. "I'm sure he can play for England. He's shown in his displays his ability and his qualities, so I am sure he can push on and try to get to that next level. "Obviously, that takes consistency over a number of months and that is what he's tried to do. "It's a big plus for Jamie that he's getting Premier League games under his belt and still of a young age."

Moravcik: Celtic must buy Tottenham striker Keane
Celtic hero Lubomir Moravcik says his old club must do all they can to sign permanently on-loan Tottenham striker Robbie Keane. Keane is being paid a reported £65,000 per week and his career total of more than £70million in transfer fees suggests he will be out of Celtic's price range, especially with the potential for a second successive season without Champions League income. However, Moravcik believes keeping the 29-year-old at Parkhead could suit all parties. "Robbie played two very good games against France for Ireland, I watched both games," the Slovakian said. "He's still a very good player. He had a hard situation at Tottenham because (Jermain) Defoe and (Roman) Pavlyuchenko took over his place. "Maybe this is the future for Celtic - build the team around Robbie Keane as a captain and maybe as the main man for Celtic, because he has a couple of years ahead of him. To finish at Celtic would be perfect for him, the club and the fans. "He's got a[...]
